World Book Day

It was great to see everyone so dressed up today! We enjoyed taking a quiz and trying to guess the character from some clues and then created our own book marks!

Digestion

The children enjoyed observing how the digestive system works yesterday. We were able to recreate this process using house hold objects. Whilst most found it disgusting, we can all agree its definitely a lesson they won’t forget!

Star Writers

Congratulations to the star writers of our last genre. We have been working on informal letters written from the main character (Lila’s) perspective when she left home to follow her dreams!

Ma Famille

We really enjoyed conversing in French today and using our pictures to talk about our family members. We asked lots of different questions to find out who was in the picture, what their names were and how old they are!

Non-Newtonian Liquid

This term in science we have been studying the 3 different states of matter. Today we experimented to try and find out if a substance could be 2 states at once. We of course thought this was going to be impossible based on what we know about their properties but we actually found out that cornflour and water created a non-Newtonian liquid- meaning it defies the properties of a normal liquid or solid! Can you explain to your grown up what we found out?

Star Writers

A huge well done to our star writers for this genre! They worked really hard to create different atmospheres throughout their setting description using lots of figurative language devices!

Family Photo

As part of our French topic this half term, we are looking at families so thought it would be a great chance to talk about the people who surround us!

Could children please bring in a family photo by the end of this week. It can be emailed over and I will happily print if this is easier!

Cooking Blog

Please remember if you do any cooking at home, to email the pictures in to cooking@petershillprimary.org I would love to see the pictures and you may earn yourself 50 carrot points! I will also feature you here on the cooking blog and on the school newsletter. On the cooking blog pages section, there are all the recipes we use in school. If you use those or adapt them please let me know.

Thank you and I can’t wait to see Mrs Lloyd
